Help with wiring a power switch + led

Hi, i'm building a test bench and using a beavisaudio wiring guide: http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/SchematicToReality/fig8.1.gif

But I also need a power switch (spdt?) and LED.

I have an idea but want to make sure since i'm such a beginner

Why?

When not in use, un-plug.

Wall-wart won't deliver power when you un-plug it from the effect.

Battery gets disconnected when you take the plug out of the Input jack.

+1  just build it as it is....no need for extra parts etc..

your led will go on/off when you use the footswitch just as a normal pedal does...
