+1.  Except for the "Maplin" part!   ;D   (Unless you really, really need it right now and they have a shop close by...)

Look for RSH Electronics too.  And Steve at Dr Tweek is a top bloke.

Thanks to everybody who replied. I will check out those suppliers.
(BTW - I have found that the pots Mapin sells can unreliable, so I avoid them now. Small Alpha pots are fine)

^ really ???... the  16mm pots in maplins are very good quality imo, i'm always using them, they are pricey as hell ...but with solid shafts and a nice feel..rather than those cheap split ones..i'm prepared to pay for

a bit better quality. never had a bad one..

service is a different matter though.. ::)

I'm with you Rob, I like the the quality/feel of the Maplin 'miniature' pots too however I do just usally order the Tayda ones - I'm too lazy to chop down the shaft on the Maplin ones.

As another point I went down to the Farnell trade counter at the weekend which is based in Leeds (where I currently reside) and picked up a couple little bits including some Bourns pots http://uk.farnell.com/bourns/93r1a-r22-a20l/potentiometer-linear-100kohm-10/dp/2321808 don't bother, they don't feel great, and as another point the pins were in a L shape! I didn't notice through the bag.  ::)
