Hi. I just varnished my pedal with this spray and it's been 24h but the pedal is very sticky. Has that happened to you? It doesn't say on the can but how long do you recon it takes to completely dry ?

What do the instructions on the can say?
Was the pedal dry before you sprayed on the varnish?
What is the temperature where the box is drying?
Is the air very humid?

Yes...Paris in winter is pretty.

And I just love Cannes in the summer!   :icon_lol:

I'm guessing it's intended for stabilising oil and acrylic paintings.
Huile et acrylique (oil and acrylic)
I don't think this was intended to coat hard surfaces rather to condition and preserve paintings.
I think it's more of a medium than a varnish.
Ma throats as dry as an overcooked kipper.

Vernis is varnish. I'll buy a glossy one tomorrow and ask the guy at the art store.

You want to apply several very very light (thin) coats.  Spray into the air off to one side of the box, then sweep the nozzle across the box.  Don't release the nozzle until you're on the other side spraying into the air. Only do this a few times for each coat.

Also, make sure you shake the can for at least one minute before spraying each coat.

You can still smell the solvent though

You want to make sure that  the clear coat is compatible with the paint that you're using.

Maybe try to gently heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun.

Yeah I guess the solvent will diffuse and evaporate better with the blow an temperature of the air dryer.

Mad it worse. I was doubting on how the varnish would hold to temperature and even hair dryer was too hot. But the finish is pretty good in the site. I don't know if it is because is gas dried or because the varnish came off from hadling

You might want to try a varnish from a hardware store that's designed to be used on furniture. That's what I use and have never had a problem. I heat mine with a heat gun to accelerate the drying process. I can spray and recoat it about every 10 minutes. I let it dry for 24 hours after the last coat.

Oh ok. I'll have a look at the hardware store see what they have. Unfortunately the guys working there are hopeless when you want something specific you're an expert in
