Hello all! My first post here so if this is in the wrong spot then feel free to move it.

But I have a repair question. I picked up a Sovtek Small Stone not too long ago and have been using it for recording cause I love a good phaser. But when I got it it had some issues.

When it's on, it sounds great, but the moment you flip it off you lose the guitar signal and it starts screaming and making all kinds of squeally and nutso sounds. Not a bad thing in my book, but for my wife's sake I decided to fix it. The footswitch had been replced with a DPDT style with PCB lugs. I am out of footswitches for my pedals at the moment so I just traced the signal paths and rewired it according to a typcal true bypass form. Lugs 1 and 2 were the effect in/out. Lugs 3/4 were the guitar in/out. And a jumper went from lugs 5/6.

So now it passes signal great and when it's on it doesn't scream and wail (sad day for me) but now when it's on there is a loud POP and the volume drop is so drastic if the amp is on 8 when it's bypassed it sounds like it's on 1 when it's on, pretty severe. With a booster after it it sounds fine but if I flip it off I'm blowing everyone's head off in my apartment complex.

Any ideas? I can post pictures if need be. Really would like to get this thing working like a champ.

Any thoughts? Perhaps a different wiring for the footswitch might help?

If it's anything like the muff, you have to cut a trace for true bypass to work properly

A green small stone at home, maybe I'll get a chance to open it up and poke around, but I have a show on sunday and I'm leaving for a week on monday so it might be a while before I can get to it.
