I Love the PDS series from digitech. Back in the day, the HOLD function and the ability to  change the sampled bit's speed  blew my mind, and my PDS1000 introduce me to the world of samplers and loopers ( I have an Oberheim Echoplex, Electrix Repeater, DL4, Boomerang) and ambient guitar, wich I'm heavily into to this day. I don't know any other pedal of the time that can "pitch shift" the sample on the fly with the twist of a knob.

There's several models available, the PDS1000, with a max delay time of 1 second up to the PDS8000 with 8 seconds of delay. This was in my opinion the most coveted pedal of the series, imagine 8 WHOLE SECONDS OF SAMPLING!

So I was wondering, do all the PDS delay models have the same PCB? in order to  change the max delay time would it me a matter of moving some trimpots or would there be some different  memory chip involved?

Well, in order to find out, let's compare! Here are a couple of pictures of my trusty PDS1000.  If anyone has any other pedal in the series, let's find out if we can expand the sample time on the 1k and 1k2 series!

Here is my pedal:

fantastic delays!

guts of my PDS8000. I got it used for $125 several years ago, just before they started going for stupid high prices. I will be gutted when mine finally croaks
