PG 380 Casio MIDI guitar

Hey,
So a friend of mine owns one of these, from the 90s. Recently, he tried adjusting the trigger sensitivity of the hex pickups by turning the trimpots at the back, and the hex pups just died after that. What could be the issue? Replacement of trimpot? Something else? Has anyone worked on these units?

I've got one of those guitars.  The triggering was off by a lot when I bought it in the 90's.  I found an article suggesting that replacing the electrolytics on that board with the trim pots can help the triggering performance.  I did that mod and was able to dial in much better triggering performance (as in...it would now actually trigger on all strings!).

My hex pickup never seemed to completely die, so I don't know if this is a solution for you.  But it's worth a read at least.
