Uglyface enhancements

I'm building another Uglyface after not building anything for a year or so.  I remember reading a mod that allows it to be as responsive with the gate closed as it is open.

I've combed through a lot of threads but have not located the comment.  Does anyone recall or know how to do this?

Don't know about that, but I did get more sustain with a substantial op amp boost in front. The notes still peter out the same way. They just do it later. A good deal later. I recommend it.
I love that thing.  I'm going to leave work and power it up right now.

+1 ^^^^^^ When I breadboarded it, a simple Jfet boost at the input made a world of difference in the sustain.
