there is only the 2 x 27k resistors and the CE of Q1 in the signal path. I'm guessing it's not the resistors providing distortion. an expert would be needed to explain what the transistor is doing distortion wise.

CE resistance is nonlinear.

sometime, my stupidity ......

I looked on the cro tonight, the tremming only clips the top half of the signal. you'd count that as distortion, right?

OK I can definitely say I'm stupid...I soldered the ground wire at the wrong row...meh...My layout is definitely good, now I got it grounded correctly and it works like a charm, no thump or whatever...yeah no very slow rate, but it freckin' works!

renege, you probably know this, but, either increase the 2 x 560k resistors some, or the three 100nF caps (220nF, 330nF, 470nF how slow do you want?) if you want slower slows. are you using the depth pot, or the bias pot? and zener voltage?

or swap over to the phase shift osc from the ea trem. I have, now i'm doing envelope on it's arse. (there is no way I'm going to type a$$, even if it is the right term.)

I am using the "standard" schem, with 6.8 diode, like my layout. Didn't know about those possible tricks, gotta try them out...this one's going to a guy I know this way...

if you look at my circuit previous page, you can improve the "chop" pot range if you use a 250k pot instead (or the 500k, doesn't matter), with a resistor above it to the zener, scaled so that you get about 4V5 on the top of the pot. make sense?

or use a lower voltage zener.

and the word I was looking for in my previous post was "wazoo".
