Is it possible to wire up a footswitch that will cause a BMP to go into oscillation/feedback? If it's even possible is it just a matter of tapping a set amount of the output back into the input (before or after the input buffer) ?? Is there a more elegant solution, possibly with a series pot that can control the amount being fedback?

Possible? Of course it is!  Just look at what is going to reinforce the signal or oppose it (in- or out-of-phase).  You already said how to do it....

Is it practical?  Would it be musically useful? Dunno - I think you should give it a try!!    :D
