Pickup simulation for buffer before FzFace

Hi there. Have used the TMO-18 transformer pickup load simulation to help the FuzzFace not "see" the buffer before it when using non true-bypass pedals in front of it, with mixed results.
Had a question: Although impractical for space, could I use an actual old cheap pickup in there instead of the transformer?
I have a bunch of those around and wondered if they could be useful to make a box dedicated solely for this purpose. Maybe work even better?
Any thoughts?

I've suggested it a number of times.  It really is about as close to the real thing as you can get, right?  You want it well-shielded and all that.

thanks a lot, yes it's one of those things that almost seem like too simple of a solution i thought maybe i was missing something
