Could I get some help building my test rig? Adding an oscillator?

I'm avoiding taking it that last step. There is a serious danger that it would play better than I can.

Quick question for you, R.G. - is it "normal" (as in, expected) that the pseudo-sine wave would have a clipped negative portion near its peak?  I tossed the super-simple version together, and that's what I see on my scope.

Still miles ahead of most other 'simple' sine wave generators!   Takes a lot of work to make it 'perfect'.
