Hey,
I'm planning on making the Big Muff Triangle 72' with the BYOC tone control.
The schematics mention that the PNP transistors used are unkown, but can be substituted by NPN 2N5133.

Does that also mean that I need to change to voltage from -9v to +9v?
And are there any other modifications needed?
Thanks guys!! Couldn't do without your help.

The schematics: (I referred to the text at the bottom)

If you intend to change the PNP with NPN 2N5133 or any equivalent (2N3904, 2N5088, BC239, MPSA18 e.t.c. - depending on the gain you like or even mix the stages..) you have to change the Power Supply ( reverse the polarity)...
Connect R13, R18, R11 & R7 to +9V and all the GNDs to Negative (-)
The wire named "ground" in your picture should serve for grounding IN and/or OUT if you connect it to GND or for signal bypass if you leave it unconnected (just a wire connecting the In/Out jacks via the stompswitch..)

P.S.
O.K. I know that it should cause a building problem(dual supply e.t.c.) but it should be an interesting experiment to mix PNP and NPN between the stages... :icon_wink:

I have a PNP version BMP from around 1976 and the transistors are 2N5087.
