I'd throw in the pop resistor anyways. No harm done and it only costs a penny.
Its worth spending some time on ebay to look for bulk buy componants. often ive found i can buy 50>100 componants for the same price as 10 if i'm willing to look through twenty pages of stuff.
Also check out Tayda electronics (not affiliated) bansai (germany) rapid, etc I'm not sure of your location it may make a differance with shipping, taxes and such.
Componants are dear here in the uk compared to the far east, just be aware that somethings are best bought on home soil sometimes to avoid fake transistors and chips, but you'll eventually get your head round what to buy and where.
Theres some threads around somewhere about common componant values used by stompboxers.
In a couple of years time you'll have enough to start your own shop.
