I've been running with this "silicon Buzzaround" football few a couple of weeks now, and this is my effort to date. No... it's not a stunning recreation of the Buzzaround in silicon form, but using a big chunk of the topology, I have what jrmy over at ILF christened "The Buzzicon".

Lots of breadboarding, and skull cracking, but it plays incredibly well with the guitar volume with the sustain and balance controls at, or above, 3 o'clock. The added caps parallel to the diode are my own doing, just to add some tonal flexibility. I only show a 0.047uf on the schematic, but the four positions are no cap, 0.047uf, 0.1uf, and 0.22uf. I left three trimmers on here, since I found that the circuits character can be adjusted somewhat at these three strategic places, so if you get bored with it, you can change it up a bit. One trimmer for the first stage voltage, one trimmer for the second stage, and the third trimmer to adjust the gain between Q3/Q4.

The vero (I didn't install C9 on the board, it's on the rotary switch with the other caps instead);

Build shots;

And finally, the customary Hen's Tooth Café video.

Nothing earth shattering here, but I find it an interesting use of an existing germanium circuit, adapted to silicon transistor. Thanks to all for their input on my original silicon Buzzaround query.

Arcane Analog

Similar yet different than mine. Nice work.

I presume that "VLOTAGE" is a brand new electricity parameter... :icon_wink: :icon_biggrin:

Yes... it's origins are based on the Greek root word "VLAHOS".

Thanks for the point out, I'll get that flixed.  :icon_lol:

I was under the impression 'Vlotage' was one of those new cell carriers.  Either that, or a fragrance from Calvin Klein.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Nice- another one for the list!

@digi2t: Propably voltages around Q1-Q2 pair are measured..
(beacause calculations reflect less than 600mV for each Vbe..)

Yes, those are the measured voltages, not calculated.
