I finally had time to populate my etched board - the Rebote 2.5. Got it wired into my breadboard, and IT WORKED FIRST TIME! The sound is different than what I expected: it seems...subtle, for lack of a better word. Anyway, I'm totally stoked that this worked!

Nothing like a eureka moment especially when it's done by your own fair hands  :icon_lol: well done to you Sir!

Welcome to the real DIY , there's nothing like etching your own. Especially if it works! BTW which methods did you use?

I used the toner transfer method. I ended up using a transparency sheet, which gave me the best results. As noted in another thread, I might have used too much pressure and/or heat, but got a successful board out of it anyway.

In a way, I'm a little unsettled that my first attempt worked right out of the gate. Usually, I go through some trial and error and failure, and learn and improve from that.

Next up: a layout of my own devising...

Congratulations! There's plenty of time for things to go wrong with future projects!  Expect it!

I boxed it in an enclosure salvaged from an aborted project. Graphics by stick-on letters.

Obligatory gutshot. I worked hard on making that as messy as I could.
