Transformer Isolated Splitter Power Question

I've been looking at building this for a while now after someone mentioned it a few weeks ago:



I don't want to use two batteries to run this thing though.  Would it be possible to use this:



And just use +9v and -9v from this inverter and apply it to the transformer isolated splitter?  Or is this considered bad practice and not a good idea?  Oh also...is that just a single opamp being used in the splitter?

The voltage inverter is a very typical of getting a bipolar supply in this little pedal world, and should work for you here.

Based on the pin configuration of the opamp, it looks to be a TL071, with pin 3 being the positive and pin 2 being the negative inputs. I imagine you could use a TL072 or a handful of other opamps without a problem.
