Piezo Preamp Compressor ?

Hey Guys,

I installed a http://www.cafewalter.com/cafewalter/fetpre/ in my Acoustic. This really really really opened up the tone and ringout of my guitar, (https://soundcloud.com/jonathan-fisher-27/acoustictransition).

The problem now is that on our louder sets, the attack of piezo is "clicky". I have a feeling the channel is getting maxed out for a microsecond or two. I was thinking an onboard compressor with a super fast attack/release could mitigate this. I was looking around for a jfet based compressor but all I can find are commercial circuit diagrams.

Anyone have an ideas for me to experiment with, or even things to try in our mix?
