It looks like if you want to have a real working lab at home it will run 500+ and probably closer to a 1000 if you want decent equipment

This is awesome. Thanks for posting this man! Also, pics or it didn't happen - I love checking out other people's workbenches, it always gives me ideas to improve my own. Everyone here has such innovative ways of working, you can learn loads just from that.

Totally agree about equipment. I'm saving for a drill press at the moment ;)

A bench power supply is something I was lacking for so long, and now I don't know how I ever got by without one.

A drill press is something I need to look into too. This little dremel one just has too much wobble/play for precision work like PCBs.

LightSound, I see trays, but no cabinet. Is the parts bin just out of frame? :)

yes, I have two tables full of stuff like files, screwdrivers, screw gun, ratchet set, trays and bins full of parts etc ; and my solder gun sits under the music stand ..my drill press is down in the basement.

I needed the second dmm and power supply to finish labs at home but am so glad i have them now.  im slow in class, I spend more time socializing and talking lol , so I have to bring my stuff home and finish it!

I have a dremel and love it. same with glue gun. I need some calipers.

We use nice Starrett dial calipers at work, and they're great, but I have the cheapie digital ones at home and they're nice in that they can quickly convert between inches and milimeters, but I always forget to turn them off and have to keep lots of spare button cell batteries around. I wouldn't mind having some mechanical dial calipers at home for those days when I'm all out of batteries  :icon_frown:

Nice bench! That's pretty cool. I was in a rental place and basically had a built in desk like in a dorm room for about 2 years. We just built our new place and I've commandeered half the garage. Still needs work and a few shelves on the wall. +1 on the bench power too that's on the list! Great use of the music stand too I'm loving your man cave.

got my very 1st terminal strip layout done and it works ...wont use a really good tranny until I get a little better at the layout . for example the output cap and switchable input caps cleaned up and on strip to with the leads coming out like the +/- wires
