My brother's Wah Wah only passes a bypass signal.
It is the kind with SPDT switch.
Here is what baffles me:
1) With switch in active mode, no signal
2) put .01uF cap on the tip of a guitar cord (in series w/input signal) and we get a fully functioning Wah pedal.  :icon_confused:

So use that cord.

Or put a 0.01 cap where the cord comes into the pedal.

Or find the cap which *should* be about there, but isn't doing its job, and fix it. Solder blobbed on both ends, missing protoboard trace cut, cap rescued from 1942 radio.....

Ya, the possibilities are endless! well I guess I assumed it would be the input cap so we cut it out and replaced it but still doesn't work. it's almost as if there were supposed to be a cap inside the switch or the pot.
He's gonna keep experimenting with it for awhile.
