Hey guys, I'm building a Vox Repeat Percussion circuit in a Dunlop wah enclosure with the rate controlled by the wah treadle. The Vox circuit uses a 100k c or b pot to control the rate. Would a 100k wah pot work for this? If not can I make it work?
Also wondering if the terminals on the back of the wah pot are numbered like normal pots? The pot has the following markings that correspond with the 3 terminals SL, CCW, CW. I'm guessing that SL=1, CCW=2 and CW=3. Would I be right in assuming this?
Why won't this @$&$ing thing work?

I'm guessing that CW = clockwise (lug 3 on most schematics), SL = slider aka wiper (lug2), CCW = counterclockwise (lug1). You'll want to connect the vox repeat percussion rate control wires to CW and SL if you want the rate to increase as you rock the treadle forward.

1, 2, and 3 are meaningless if my 3 is not your 3. cw is always clockwise. ccw is always counterclockwise. they don't need to be marked on yr normal style pot. just grab the shaft and turn it like it's a volume control. up turns clockwise, down is the opposite.

+1 on what Duck says. The other thing is to draw an arrow indicating clockwise rotation to that end.

Got to admit it always confuses the sh*t outta me I learned that a pot looking at it from the front is 1,2,3 and obviously 3,2,1 from the back.

2 is always the middle so slider or wiper the bit that moves or whatever but if you turn the shaft clockwise CW does that mean the lug you start from i.e lug 1 is the CW one? I mean you're already starting from a fully counter clockwise CCW position so does that mean 1 is the CCW one?

See what I mean I'm easily confused by the way

So to determine CW and CCW do you take it from the shaft start position fully off or the one you turn it towards

If I go CW I start at 1 making that CW or I go towards 3 making that CW explain pls so I can get it into my thick skull

Turn CW so the wiper moves towards an end, and stops there- thus CW is that end, CCW is the other end.

But just to confuse things, in the southern hemisphere when you flush the water in a toilet spins opposite (Coriolis effect), so maybe the clocks run backwards too  :icon_lol:

yer, our number 1's and our number 2's can be interchanged here.

The only real reason I have heard that water may spin in one direction in one toilet and the opposite in another, is the design of the toilet. Meaning, the direction the holes that shoot out the water are pointed in the bowl causes the water to spin in that direction. Just like using a hose to fill a bucket and pointing it at an angle one way or the other.

I think the mythbusters also shot this one down. Pun not intended.

Floor-mat at the front entrance to my former place of employment. Oh... the irony.

the problem is establishing your initial state. when is the water still enough not to influence the outcome?

Thanks for the replies dudes. I think I have it all worked out.

And in regards to the water flow direction in my toilet, that's not applicable. I live in the bush and we have a old outdoor thunder box style dunny. Checking under the seat for nasty spiders is mandatory.

how's the quality of your ground water at the mo', fzzfnn?

Wouldn't have a clue, but I know that my "special tomato plants" I have growing not far from the thunder box are doing real well. And I hardly have to water them much also.

Hey guys, I just finished the repeat percussion in the wah enclosure project. Works great, and thanks again for all your wisdom.
