Hi there guys. I'm just building my first pedal and I choose to start with a easy and noisy one. The holly woolly mammoth. Mounting the vero circuit was quite easy but I really been struggling with the offboard wiring and trying to figure out where the ground wires should go. I've been trying different layouts and configurations but the pedal refuses to work so I decided to post it here and look for some advise and supervision of any experienced builder before quit.  :'(

The layouts I'm working with:

What I've got so far

And this is what I've got, I tried to use the same color pattern with the wires:

Where should I connect the ground coming out of the potentiometers?

Apart from that what could be wrong in my circuit?

Many thanks in advance guys.

Welcome to the forum! The pots' ground wires can be connected to the vero board's ground row. Take a look at the debugging page for trouble shooting advice - the link is on the upper left of the page. Provide as much info as you can and post some photos of the back of the board. Using sockets for your transistors is a good practice. It will prevent you from frying transistors.

also, those red squares with dots in the middle are trace cuts, you cut the trace/row at those so either side of it is no longer connected... just in case you didn't know...

also also, can you please include post the circuit diagram? this helps us to teach you about things like groundings.
additional also - hello.

Thank you very much Peter. I'll try it with the grounds connected to the vero's ground row. I checked the circuit and it's ok. Somehow I think something is wrong with my grounds or power supply. I'll get a multimeter to double check.

Thanks Quackzed, yep, I knew about the red squares and the job has been done.

Hi duck_arse, the circuit diagram is just in the first picture.

Thank you guys, let see if that works!

Hi duck_arse, the circuit diagram is just in the first picture.

What Ducky means is we need the schematic for this pedal.
