Hi Matt--

I had an inquiry from someone who wants to build this. What LDR did you use or would you recommend?

PeterG:
Really? That's fantastic news.  Will send you a message.

SmallBear:
I believe I used 2 of the GL5537 photoresistors, with one on each side of 5mm Yellow Diffused LED covered in lots of heat-shrink etc..
Surprisingly hard to assemble...

Here are a couple of more demos of V2 incorporating some other DIY builds/effects

Here is my take on Matt's great circuit:

The box is a Hammond 6" x 10 "x 1" aluminum chassis:

Matt. Thanks for you help and patience!

Wow!

peterg, is that your PCB layout? Any chance of sharing it? I'd happily purchase one too!

peterg

Thanks Kinski - yes I designed the layout. I'm working on a layout that will use a 1P12T rotary switch that will activate steps 1 to 8. Once done and with Matt's permission I'd be happy to share it.

That looks fantastic !  I would also be interested in a PCB layout.  :)

peterg, you're a man after my own heart :) (Complex synth circuit with way too many wires... fires up Eagle, designs own PCB with boardmounted everything...)

mattoverse

That looks amazing Peter, wish mine turned out that nice!

kinski

Thanks peterg! Can't wait to for the PCB! I'll be building one right away when it's posted!

Below is the dropbox link to the file folder containing 4 PDFs:

1. circuit board etch - this is a modified version of the layout I used. It uses a 1P12T rotary switch which allows for switching steps 1 through 8. IT IS NOT VERIFIED!
2. circuit board silkscreen/component labels - adjust LED resistors to suit.
3. enclosure graphics for printing to label
4. enclosure graphics in reverse for etching

Check the scale of your prints!

If you have trouble downloading please send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the files.

The enclosure I used is a Hammond 1444-15. 6" x 10" x 1" aluminum.

Please do not post to other sites or use for commercial purposes.

Thanks Matt for permission to post the files and your help with my build!

Thank you

Thanks so much! And thanks mattoverse for the awesome design!

Also, you said steps 1-12.  Do you mean 1-8?

Would love love love to see a demo video of this Peter, if you could post one or have a link?  Best - Matt

I'm finally getting around to etching this PCB.  I have to order some parts ( and funds are somewhat limited ) but I'll be sure to post any future results.
Thanks again to mattoverse and peterg.
