Anyone used the 3PDT circuit board from Tayda?

It looks kinda nifty...

The normal by-hand wiring isn't difficult, but this looks like it'd make life even simpler. It's even got a space for the LED resistor.

It's a tiny bit pricey (at $2.49) compared to other components.

Wondering if anyone's ever given it a try.

I designed one of my own that was very similar but never had it made. I etched a few of them but it wasn't worth all the trouble of the etching, drilling, and so forth. However, my new one will also incorporate R.G.'s two transistor reverse polarity circuit and is being fabbed as we speak. I think I'll find it more useful since it will serve a greater purpose than just slightly more convenient wiring.

I use these ones audio and power wires are well separated there are 3 x +9v pads and 6 x ground pads and you can sometimes get 10 for around 9 dollars when the deals are on

I like those. And the Tayda ones as well. I like this idea in general.

It's not that I don't know HOW to wire, but these little boards seem like an easy way to simplify your life. Not to mention keeping your wiring nice and tidy.

Yeah they're good wee boards I've taken to using them on almost every build these days it does make for a more professional looking gut shot.

I checked your profile and saw you were in the US so hence my link you can get 3pdt boards from almost every where and I've tried a few these are my favourite one's thus far especially for combo builds and because I use bi colour LED's red for powered up / bypass and green for effects mode especially useful for combos with 3 or more circuits where you can instantly see whats active and whats not and for stomp switchable mods etc

see a few guys  on places like ebay, 'no pcb board" like its any different lol ..solid conductivity = solid conductivity

the sellers I watch who do this should also add, "all layouts are designed by guitar FX and are not the work of my own."

You mean that they're trying to brag that the pedal they're selling is all wires, without a switch PCB? I may be a newbie at this, but even I know that's BS.

If anything, I'd think using one of these little boards would be BETTER than hand-wired. Less chance of broken joints, etc.

I'll probably go with the ones from Tayda, just because I buy all my other junk from them. It's probably not worth a second shipping charge to get them from GuitarPCB. ;-)

Does anyone make one where I can wire my battery to the board and all three wires from the 9V switching jack to the board (along with LED and I/O jacks) and it does the appropriate routing.  I just imagine it being much cleaner.

I'm getting super lazy in my old age.

Mine will do exactly that. I'll have to check the number of ground pads but I think I put enough on there as that was one of my goals. It will have room for the led resistor and of course power in and out since it will have the polarity protection on it. Of course, since it is a 3pdt board, it will do your routing of in and out signals. Unfortunately, you still have to connect wires from the effect board and jacks to it. I haven't figured out a way around that one yet. lol. Maybe I'll add Bluetooth or something.

If there is enough people interested in these, I could get more of them made and sell them for couple bucks a piece. Not looking to get rich or anything. I might have to run it past R.G. though since it has his polarity protector circuit on there.

Do you mind sharing the schematic?

I have yet to see one that doesn't require me to wire the battery to the 9V jack.  I'm looking for something where all wires go to the PCB and has I/O/V/G pads for the PCB.  I was planning on getting my PCB guy to design some for me but was hoping someone already did it.

I know it doesn't always matter to some but as an alternate perspective; my shipping at GuitarPCB is very reasonable at only $2.95 even with the postage rate increase to $2.60, I also offer friendly customer support and full online build support with a wealth of information and guides for everyone so it goes without saying that I appreciate any support worldwide as this is how I pay the bills and raise my two children from this business alone for the last 7 years since the loss of their mother. I had to give up my 17 year career to be a full time parent and this was the way I chose to do it.

I also have some of the best prices I think on the web (everyday), full forum support aside!

I think I am worth it.... Just saying.   ;)

GuitarPCB 3PDT Wiring Boards are only $1.49 each and loaded with features including BiColor LED option, (3) 9v pads for Combos, (6) Grounds and audio path wiring is isolated from power traces for higher gain pedals. The entire layout is also symmetrical with your pedal enclosure and jacks and with corner cuts you can fit (2) side by side in a 125B eluding the screw holes. [See Photo Below]

Well, sheeeet. I didn't know you were "one of us".

I'm fairly new to this hobby, so I'm still learning the ropes. Even after all my years online, it never occurs to me that a vendor might be just a single person trying to earn a living.

So, okay... You've won my business. Watch for an order soon. :-)

The thing I like about Beery apart from the fact he's an adopted Scot even though his patter's rank is the freebies you always get something gratis.......the quality........the support......the banter.....but apart from that....................

I am of course biased and on occasion buy elsewhere but I've been on his site for a wee while now and because of all the unexpected bonus bags etc I'm still there even though I'm in Scotland simply because he is along with the likes of Steve at Smallbear, Aron, RG, Italianguy63, kipper4, pinkjimi, electric warrior, dead astronaut (shit could be here a while) etc etc a guy you can trust and guys like that get my loyalty and support for treating me well

I can post a pic of the board layout. You would still need to wire your DC jack to the board. I guess you could wire the battery to the board too but I just do it to jack. I didn't have a reason myself to avoid that one. Since power has to be wired to the 3PDT board for it's 2nd function, polarity protection, you can just wire a battery to it and omit the jack altogether or vice-versa.

I found something I don't like about how I did the LED but I'll work that out on my next go. The LED will need a wire back to the jack or tacked to the 9V pad some how as it was left off the board. It only has it's GND pad there. I was trying to keep it etchable but I may change that .

B if for board in/out. J is for Jack be it in or out. L is for LED. CLR is for the current limiting resistor on the LED. +9V and GND are your input power be it the battery or jack and then Vout would be your nicely protected power.
