NEW question on Fuzz Face build

I think I've settled on circuit particulars for my upcoming (PNP) FF build after examining a LOT of variations.

But I ran into one point of confusion looking at the switching setup BYOC uses.

They have the input side of the 2.2uF input cap being switched to ground when in bypass mode.

Is this necessary?  Why?

FWIW, I will be using a DPDT and no LED.

Actually, nevermind!  I figured it out.

You sussed it pos ground? I've built loads of + grounders but I still scratch my head when it comes to wiring the LED I've got a big bald patch appearing and everything!
