Suhr Riot - Mystery Solved! I think?

Ok, I know a lot of people built the Uproar Suhr Riot clone and never seemed quite right, myself included... I did all the mods, made up a few of my own etc and still never really sounded like the real deal. Then jymaze came up with some mods and it really sounded great and basically save it from being scrapped. Still not quite like the Riot but damn close and damn good! Anyway, a member of "another forum" has gone to great lengths to unlock the secret of this thing, removed smd caps and measured and corrected a few other things...

Half way down the page post by MarkGor with correct schematic and lots o pretty pictures   His board actually looks better than the original!

Started to make another layout based on the new schematic.My previous build was scrapped.I hope it sounds good this time.

I'd say Mark from tagboardeffects will probably have one soon. He already has vero layouts for the madbean version and the jymaze modded version. Looking at the difference in the actual schematics there shouldn't be much to do to modify one of the existing layouts.

Oh yeah, i forgot that he was a mod over on fsb and he was asking for a better print of the schematic yesterday so, hopefully soon.

The new version of schematic is really good sounding.I liked it a lot and the red LED sounds scooped and more compressed compared to 1n34a while the blue led/silicon combination is the most open sounding.tone control is more useable this time.(tested on my build based on Markgor's schematic).

3 years later....

my son in law was going on and on about the riot....and the invetitable came''do you reckon you could ....''

anyway...in a jiffy i whipped it up on breadboard and was very pleasantly surprised... (my last attempt was naff)

its great as as an overdrive, and cleans up really sweet too..very sweet for mellower stuff, blues etc too
ive just been soloing over synth ambient strings and it responds/blends in really well..even just DI'd..

ive got the basic circuit up n running...and just testing different diode/led selections...

i wouldnt say it was a full on metal pedal really...but does have nice drive to it for rock too...
but i really like its mellower/tubey screamey side..

anyway, i'm off up north for a week, but i'll defo be tinkering with this when i get back...

it'll probably end up with a few switches though....
