So i was thinking to build new phaser and were looking towards something like bad stone but then again it's not quite what im looking for. And i got this idea of "freezing" phaser effect mid phase with maybe momentary switch. So question is, is this even possible or should i just forget it even before i even start?

Also looking for tips to get really really slow phaser sweeps.

And hello, i'm new here.

The Badstone allows you to freeze the sweep, and also does extremely slow sweeps (although this mod is a fairly simple matter of replacing the timing cap in the LFO with a bigger value and could work with any phaser). What is it about the Badstone that doesn't fit the bill?

Any phaser with a manual phase shift setting will allow you to freeze the phase. Though I think this phaser uses an LFO that's always churning, so when you disengage the manual shift mode the phaser sound comes back in wherever the LFO is at that moment. If you're looking for a "freeze" button that freezes the phase at a location, then when you disengage the button the phase continues where it left off before you froze it, I think that's a bit more complicated... though I could be off-base.

You're right that having something like a momentary switch you can step on and hold the sweep at a certain point before letting it continue is going to be a more complicated circuit.

On the other hand, controlling the sweep with a foot pedal is a much easier means of sweeping back and forth at will, and stopping wherever you choose to stop.   The downside is that it becomes up to the user to keep things going when you want to continue sweeping up and down.

i built the FAZE FILTER which is pretty cool...

ultra slow sweeps, and a switch to turn the lfo off,

so you have a manual sweep setting too..

I can't find the circuit I had for this, it came from somebody that worked for Elektor back in the 80s, but I do remember that it was done with just a couple of cmos chips - but not the usual ones - possibly 45xx. A similar type of trick I suspect was used in the Aphex Compellor, where gain release is prevented during short pauses in the input signal.
