SCPA designation

There are a number of chips that carry the SCPA designation at the end such as ICL7660SCPA.  What does it tell me?  I was told that using one as a charge pump in an audio situation that I'd need the SCPA or I'd risk getting a high pitched whine at the output.  I never questioned it and always went with the SCPA version. 

Any idea what it means?

In this particular case, it's the "S" that tells you the chip is capable of being wired up so that you avoid the whine (short pins 1 and 8).  The other letters will tell you about packaging and other specs, none of which is whine-related and none of which will kill anyone.  So not important.
