Reverberation Machine too noisy?

Hi, I've built a death by audio reverberation machine using the vero layout on the tagboards site. I'm generally pleased with it, but it's exceptionally hissy above 12 o'clock on the blend pot.

Has anyone else made one and if so is yours noisy too? I know it's lo-fi and everything but this seems a bit overbearing.

From what I've seen, that thing can apply a lot of gain (to the point of op-amp clipping) to the output. As the reverb is a Belton Brick, putting the gain afterwards will bring up a hell of a lot noise. That seems to be the point though, so I suppose it is what it is.
Only thing, make sure of C14 on the output amp. At 470pF, it's there to cut excessive noise at high gain setting.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I will also try a shielded input wire as that can't be helping much.
