I collected many FET projects, and removing this filter always led to an improvement in sound
Tomorrow I will compile one layout and write more precisely

"I'm getting older while being taught all the time" Solon the Athenian..
"I don't mind  being taught all the time but I do mind a lot getting old" Antonis the Thessalonian..

More brightness
No excessive bass
To my ears, this filter severely cuts off the upper frequencies, and low frequencies are too low

When I was assembling a similar circuit for the last time, using the toggle switch I turned on and off this filter
In general, different schemes in different ways
For example, Brian Wampler does not use this filter in Pinnacle but uses it in Plexi Drive

Having fairly recently built a Pinnacle-BSIAB2 hybrid, iirc the Pinnacle uses the same filter topology with an even lower cutoff. It is however switchable and followed by an output buffer.

Have you built a Pinnacle or BSIAB2 and removed this filter?

Hi, I previously built a pinnacle and yes I deleted the filter
I collected it with the mod (added the third mu amp) to get more gain and instead of the Big muff tone stack I installed the tone stack Marshall, the filter was installed, but was turned off with the toggle fork.
Everyone who listened, said that without a filter is better.
At a minimum, there was more high-frequency storage, from clacky sound, to a very sharp one.
Tomorrow I will test 4 layouts for later assembly, one of them will be somewhat similar to pinnacle (although remotely), I can try it again with a filter and without it.
I'm not likely to be able to record a demo, since I do not have microphones and a sound card, the maximum is a camera on my iphone, but you understand that it will be almost impossible to estimate the sound.

So you agree Wampler actually does use that filter in the Pinnacle (an even more severe one in fact)? I wasn't sure if you realized that since before you stated that he doesn't use it in the Pinnacle. Since these threads often get read by a lot of people, it is important to keep facts straight.

If you mean a 1 microfarad condenser and a 22 kilo ohm resistor located right in front of the volume knob, then yes, but specifically in this case, I only removed the resistor

GGBB

No - I mean the filter you said Wampler doesn't use in the Pinnacle:

By the way about the last cascade
R20 R21 C12 C13
As far as I remember in theory, it should reduce noise, in practice the noise decreases a little, but the amounts of high frequencies and the upper middle decrease, the attack deteriorates, and low frequencies and low midpoints increase, this is a huge minus that concerns not only this pedal, but also other , I would recommend to abandon it, the sound becomes much nicer

In this schematic of the Pinnacle, it is R19-C15-R20-C17:

Same LP filter about an octave lower (when bright switch is off). It's not drawn as obviously in most Pinnacle schematics, so it's easy to miss that the Pinnacle uses that same filter topology after the tone stack as the BSIAB2.

When you built the Pinnacle, did you remove that filter?

I did not delete this filter
But with this tone stack I built it a long time ago, back in January or February, I just remember that I did not like it, I started trying different equalizers (active / passive with 2/3 bands), I stopped at the tone stack Marshall

Just a filter like in Charlie Brown is used in many effects in which Bsiab or other FET circuits are based - these are Catalinbread, Wampler, JHS products.
