I am working on the A/DA Ampulator and I have used Kicad to do my versions of the boards. It is a challenging project but I have built a lot of pedals and I've successfully built an Alembic F2B and a power amp based on the Firefly using tubes/valves so I am cautiously optimistic :o. If anybody is interested in going over my work, I would be happy to share the files. I've used the component loading chart as a guide and done the best I can with the routing.

In the meantime, I have a query if anybody can help. In the power supply section, part of the circuit supplies 15V+ and 15V- DC bipolar power to the ICs and part of this circuit also goes off to a section labelled "Mute" which goes to three transistors linked to the outputs. The thing that is throwing me is the reference to "GND2". I can't see any reference to this in this or the other 2 schematics for this project. Can GND2 be safely connected to the main Ground connection?

I couldn't find the schematics on the AdaDepot forum site but they are available at a couple of other locations on the web, for example, here http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=52155.

This is the section I refer to http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh99/autochton/Ampulator_PSU.png.
It's on the left bottom between C311 and C312.
(If there is a copyright problem, I will remove the image on Photobucket.)

I have finished building my version of the Ampulator and I am pleased to say it is working successfully. I got the boards etched using a Chinese manufacturer whose prices were reasonable and within my budget.

Here is a picture of it all boxed up minus the lid:

I'd be happy to share the Kicad files if anybody is interested.
