Hi everyone, I built a black acid fuzz again and again it doesn't work. I have some debugging skillz under my belt this time around though (still fairly noob), so I started with the basics - Reflowed all joints, Knifed all gaps, Checked all wiring, checked all component values, checked transistor orientation. I'm getting voltages on Q1 EBC: 0V, 0.58V, 1.44V. Q2 EBC: 1V, 1.44V, 9.57V. When I audio probe it, Q2e and Q2b are sounding good (fuzz good, level good), but Q2c has significantly lower output than everything else and as a result the volume pot is getting a lower signal.

I'm building it on vero using this layout: https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2017/05/emanating-fist-electronics-black-acid.html
What could be the problem?

Still in the process of learning, so bear with me if I ask dumb questions :P

Sounds it have a shortcut.
Post some photos!
To you, buffered bypass sucks tone.
To me, it sucks my balls.

there is a resistor there supposed to be 560R, but I can't make head or tails of the colours. what value did you fit?

Shit soldering. You need to clean the board before you start. Scrub with a wire cloth then flux the whole board so that the solder makes a contact with the copper and your components.

Plexi

Yep.. that soldering isn't too much clean.. :-\
I would clean between lines, and see what happen.

I tried cleaning the gaps and going over them with the edge of a scissor, no improvement. Would there be any potential issue if I just took a wire from Q2 base to volume lug 3?
