Hey people, newbie here  ::)

Can someone please explain how to connect input and output jacks on this schematic ? I've never seen a phone jack symbol with a bar under tip and connected to sleeve. Also I don't understand A ---- B next to the output. Are they related to relay ?

Here is the schematic : https://schematicheaven.net/effects/mesaboogie_v1-bottlerocket.pdf

Thanks

It's a jack with a switch. When you don't have anything plugged in, the switch connects the input of the circuit to ground. When you put a plug, the connection between the switch and the tip is broken, and the tip and ground are disconnected. You can use a regular mono jack and skip the switch.

A and B are related to the DPDT/3PDT switch. Basically you have two switches, switch A and switch B, both from the same DPDT/3PDT. A and B are distinct poles from the same switch.
Edited: Now I saw the whole schematic. You have a DPDT relay controlled by the switch located at the power supply. But basically it's the same thing as a regular switch, A and B are the poles of the relay. You can also use a 3PDT to do the switching instead of a relay.

That's a cool little circuit. looks like a hot preamp circuit. I'm a newbie as well, but is that what's called a cathode follower from V2B to V2A?

No.

Cathode is on leg 8 of V2B and is grounded via 33k resistor..

There isn't any signal "taken" out of it so we don't have anything that "follows" something else.. :icon_wink:
(in a form of same phase and voltage amplitude, although some different arrangements can be considered as followers with gain..)

Actually, V2B Anode (leg 6) sends the incoming to Grid (leg 7) signal amplified to V2A Grid (leg 2) for furher amplification..
