 Hi All-

I built a Tube Driver per the Effects Layout perf circuit here :

It works great but I have a high frequency tone/whine that I thought was probably the charge pump.  I swapped out a few that I had and am using an LT1054CP so I thought those weren't prone to the high frequency tone but no change with swapping charge pumps (including type TC1044SCPA etc.).  It uses a 12 volt power supply so could that be suspect (I don't have any other 12 volt efects to test the power supply with).

Any thoughts ?  As alway any input greatly appreciated.

To find out what causes the problem, I suggest 1) try a different power supply, lika a simple 12v wall wart transformer that has no switching electronics inside   2) change the oscillator frequency of your charge pump. with the tc1044scpa you connect pin 1 to pin 8, now the frequency is much higher than audible.

Thanks Clint Eastwood !

Yes right now I only have 1 1v DC supply that is center pin negative but I will round up another and give it a try.

I have some TC1044SCPA's that I tried without jumpering pin 1 & 8 but will try that too.

Will report back results.
