Hey guys, Was wondering if anyone had any experience with screenprinting enclosures with plastisol? When using plastisol is a clearcoat necessary as opposed to using water based or is it durable enough without one? Cause i'd like to find a way to screenprint without a top coat as i suck at using spray cans.
Obviously the best to use would be epoxy or enamel ink but its pretty expensive to source this here in Australia.

Anything will chip off if not protected with a clearcoat, especially if you're stomping at it.

I did, a long time ago.  If you use the correct screen size and can cure it with the proper UV light then it does work well.  Eventually everything chips, clear coat, powder coat, etc but mine stayed on fairly well.  I can't remember the ink I used, but I printed onto a phenolic electrical box.  The ink adhered just fine.  I assume if you prep the aluminum properly it should be ok.
