Correct lug numbering for dual gang pots?

Just wondering if it matters what row you call A1-A3 and which row you call B1-B3 on a dual gang pot ?

It matters when they are two different values! I don't see how it would make a difference if they are of identical values and curves.

Its just a 100k log dual gang for a HPF filter. The wiring from the circuit goes: Freq B1, Freq B2&3, Freq A1, Freq A2&3.
