Has anyone tried these mods? I'm looking to improve on the the depth of the effect.

   Thanks for any replies.

Well - those are mine - so yes, I've tried them. :)

They work pretty well. The only limitation is that the chop control can sort of hit a ceiling so you get a slight thump. This tremolo design is limited - there's only so much depth and speed you can squeeze out of it and these mods push out to those inherent limits. If you are primarily looking for faster speeds, I suggest making C8,9,10 smaller.

Thanks form the reply GGBB. I'll give them a shot.  :icon_biggrin:

Regarding improving depth - in the original EA Tremolo the depth limits are set by the two resistors on either end of the depth pot (120k and 68k in the runoffgroove version upon which my Turbo Twin Tremolo was based). What I did was to simply give the depth control greater range by pushing those two limits out to a variable 100k "chop" pot and 18k. (The depth pot also changes to a variable resistor from a voltage divider but that's less important.)

So if you just want more depth from a standard EA Tremolo - adjust those two resistors, or more generally make the pot have a larger overall percentage of the total resistance of the two resistors plus pot - which can be done by simply using a higher value pot (e.g. 500k instead of 250k).
