Rant: I really don't like these power jacks (but I've ordered more anyway)

I am firmly in the camp of NOT liking the jacks in the OP. I tried them a few times in some smaller builds and they always seemed to keep a VERY tigh grip on the power plug. After seeking some online assistance, I was told that they might be "cheap copies" of the Kobiconn version and was told to get them from "a reliable source" who I shall not name.

I ordered 10 of them from the 'reliable source' and over half of those had the same problem  :icon_rolleyes:

I do not use them anymore and just alot space for the typical power jacks.

Definitely in agreement with the general consensus here, i find them way way to tight. Kind of like those 1/4 jacks that refuse to let go of a patch cable until you pull so hard that you end up smashing the pedal into something else on the board and swearing loudly.
I also don't like the way they protrude out of the enclosure, i prefer a flush fit.

I've often thought with 1/4 jacks and DC jacks on pedalboard set ups that a magnetic 'snap on' connection like the power connector on a Mac would be amazing

The jacks I use have a split centre pin so if it is tight it will automatically close the gap down and if it is too loose you can insert a jewellers' screwdriver and pry the halves apart a bit more.  It seems to be the right idea for accommodating non-precision plugs.  If you don't like the jacks you are using, don't keep buying them because the vendor will think they are popular favourites and keep stocking them.
