Once you use Erem tungsten carbide cutters everything else feels a bit ghetto. Unfortunately, the tip on mine finally broke and I'm not about to spend $200+ to get another one (I got the last one free). Still works but not so well for lead clipping.

I'm wondering about these, which do more of a shear cut: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BN79QO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Never seen them before.

One of the larger cutter companies had a page of blade shapes explaining when to use certain shapes and why.

This thread gives me wire cutter GAS.
I was almost gonna buy a few nice tools the other day, when I was box shopping.

They had those round nose jewelers pliers, some angled flush cutters...I think another trip is in order.

Yeah. How long do any of these snips last if used on guitar strings!

yup....i ONLY use mine for component lead clipping.....the same pair i had before got used for 1 set of strings
as they were quick to hand....but then quick to die...lesson learned.  :icon_rolleyes:

I've used loads of different cutters over the years, but these are the best I've found so far :

Only use them for cropping component leads though..... :)

These are good from The Range. Integral insulation stripper too.

I got these in my stocking last year and they are very nice.  Good strippers.  Cutting action was a little clunky due to the force needed for the stripper.  Removed one of the tension springs and all is good.

Wow you can pick up those rongeurs pretty cheaply now! In a previous life I ordered a few rongeurs and they cost us about £1000  :icon_eek:
