Legend - BOSS CE-1 clone

At the beginning of my post I would like to welcome you all, this is my first post

Now to the point.
I would like to boast about the result of my work. This is an exact copy of the BOSS CE-1 chorus from BOSS
I named it LEGEND

The differences between the original include
-possibility to supply with a standard 9V power supply, or BOSS polarization if you prefer
- hardly available analog MN3002 delay line replaced with a newer chip with identical parameters
-reelational preamplifier which, when properly set, beautifully colors the sound
- perfect sounding chorus
-very original vibrato.
-option to use the effect in stereo configuration
- powder coated housing, the paint has a unique structure
- UV print applied directly to the housing
- definitely smaller size, less emergency than the hard-to-reach and very expensive original
- housing dimensions are 187x118mmx38mm

I started working on the effect in 2019, of course I first made a few prototype circuits with a positive or less positive effect.
However, what it presents is currently the final version.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

You should adapt the circuit to use the Coolaudio V3207 or XVIVE 3007. They are both currently made & sold and the TDA1022 pricing is... getting out of hand. They're worth more than x4 what you had probably paid for it in 2019.

You'd only need to double the clock frequency and accommodate the voltage variations to use those chips. Feel free to raise that discussion if you're interested - we'd like a schematic of your work to elaborate.

A local buddy of mine started making these a decade or more back.  I don't know where he was able to locate a stash of MN3002 chips, but he did.  Of course, the website now says "out of stock" so I guess all good things come to an end.

That is really beautiful.  You could have packed that tighter, but I love it maintaining the large form factor.  It makes it pretty inside and out.

I'd love to see the schematic as well, even if adapting to more available chips is an exercise for the reader.

I fixed an original for an old friend, and put it through its paces.  For my money, the best thing about the CE-1 was Roland/Boss's use of different LFO waveforms for chorus vs vibrato.  Sadly, they stopped using different waveforms after that.  That said, I am told that part of John Frusciante's signature tone is the preamp front end of a CE-1.  I haven't explored that.  It is simply what I was told.

Currently, I have built the last LEGEND models, I have run out of TDA1022.
Of course, I'm still working on a new version of the chorus built on other BBDs. We can talk about it in the forum

And this is the last version, this time with an additional input buffer. The buffer can be turned off and still have the original CE-1 feel.

I also built a pream as an independent effect. However, in my opinion, it still requires an additional input buffer.
As for the LFO, I also think the use of selectable vibe/chorus is ok. In another of my effects, I used a similar modulation as a modification of the delay sound.
