I've used them on a couple builds. I personally like them, I think they're a really neat idea and they look super cool. The only reason I don't use them for every build now is the price. I also didn't love their method of connection, with the pins wired hard in to the LED board. I disconnected those pins and ran my own wires straight into the board. Also would have been nice if they had labelled which wire was which, I had to guess-and-check.

Summary: super cool, a little expensive

yeah, ali express is the retail side of alibaba. alibaba will sell ya stuff wholesale in bulk, but ya gotta shop around some.
a lot of times when they're introducing new products, they blow 'em out cheaper on ali express to get folks using them.
i've had nothing but good results with either, outside of a batch of shit 1/4" jacks that are absolutely useless.
