Is there something wrong with my BSIAB??

I recently changed out some transistors in my recently built BSIAB. I spent a good deal of time experimenting with the bias of Q5. When biasing by ear and adjusting for the best sound and then measuring, Q5 measures about 1.3 VDC. When I set the bias according to the meter and I bias over 4 VDC the sound is like a blanket over the speakers whereas at  1.3VDC I get a very toneful, aggresive, touch sensitive response. Is there anything wrong with my BSIAB?

Thanks,

Kevin

If it sounds good, it IS good!   Variations in JFETs make the actual voltage they'll bias at for best operation different, unit to unit.  If you tweaked it to your liking and it sounds good, I would say you are good to go!
