Why do people post questions in the project section instead of here?

Why do people post non project questions in the project section instead of here?
The questions might be seen by more and answered here.

I think a lot of people won't realise they're for forum projects.  They just see the word "project" and think, "I've got a project" and go ahead and post.  Perhaps a mod needs to triage posts there and move them as appropriate?  Or the Post button should throw up an "are you sure?" message?  I agree it means many posts are probably not seen, and then newbies move on thinking they're being ignored...

Doesn't everyone simply hit 'Show unread posts since last visit.'? I rarely even know which forum questions are posted in.
