Wiring a 3-in-1 pedal, but with one circuit buffered/non-bypassed?

Hey all,

I built a 3-in-1 drive pedal for someone recently. Its two drives circuits and a boost (3 footswitches). He didn't like the boost and wants me to replace the boost section with a Klon circuit. I have a Klon circuit already built, which I really would like to use, but its buffered. The wiring on the layout diagram only shows for a DPDT footswitch, but the other 2 drives in the pedal have a 3PDT. How would I wire these together? I hope this makes sense. Is there a way to wire the buffered Klon I've built into a 3PDT? Heres the Klon layout I am following:

Originally it was wired up like this, but obviously continued to a 3rd footswitch. So the other two are still like this:

Thanks,
Steve.

Wiring stuff within the same enclosure is really no different than two pedals 'wired' together with 1/4" jacks and a patch cable. Identify the Klons input and output, where they'd normally connect to 1/4" jacks And wire them to where the input and output of the boost was.

A 3PDT switch is a DPDT with one extra SPDT, so you could just use 2/3 of the switch. Since the Klon switching is somewhat different than the boosters, you could just put in a new switch, or reconfigure the existing wires to what the Klon needs, but I suspect they won't match up easily.

Yea, well, i was thinking of going ahead and putting a DPDT switch and wiring the Klon up as the layout above suggests - then at the end connecting the Klon's ground and 9v to the rest of the pedal. That just leaves me with the Klons input and output I think? So how exactly do I wire those two in?  I am just a little confused as to exactly where I am connecting the klons input and output as I'd have no DPDT lugs left. The output on the layout says "Output AND SW5". I know I am being really stupid here, but if someone could just make it obvious for me as I have never done this kind of wiring before?

Thanks.

Ah I see what you're asking.

My interpretation is treat the input labeled wire as the wire you'd connect to the input jack, and the output/sw5 as the output jack. A schematic would help to confirm. But since this is a buffered bypass, I wouldn't expect or be surprised if the input and/or output didn't connect to the bypass switch.

EDIT: The electrosmash schematic seems to confirm this, and the addition of the actual jacks on the schematic may help you out in visualizing what's going on!

Treat the Klon and its DPDT as a contained unit (forget that it has a switch). Connect it to the other two pedals as if it were always on - no switch needed. So the Klon input and output wires connect to either the jacks or the 3PDT switches of the the other two pedals (depends on what position the Klon is in). For example - Klon in the middle:

Cheers all. I think I am 90% there. I have one issue. The Klon is affecting the bypassed volume. ie when no effect is engaged, the volume control on the Klon is setting the dry guitar volume.

I wired the Klon up as it the layout suggested, and then I've SW5 on the Layout going to the tip lug of the Output jack as well.

The Input of the Klon is going to the centre right column lug of the adjacent 3PDT switch for the next effect beside it. Is this correct?

When engaged, the Klon is working perfectly, as are all other effects in the unit, LED's etc.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

SOLVED.

Nevermind. I did a circuit boo-boo. I forgot to put in the sideways resistor at the very top rail - the 560R. DOH!

I forgot out good the Klon sounds. Using Д9Е's.

Thanks everyone, the help was invaluable as ever!
