4049 CN

Hello,
I have found a small stock of 4049CN in a drawer, and i was wondering if these could be used in some circuits (I am thinking distorsion pedals like a Red Llama, a Wasp Filter, or other circuits requiring a 4049UBE)?
I know these circuits need an unbuffered version of the chip (UBE), but i can't manage to find if the "CN" version of the 4049 is buffered or unbuffered

Do they have any manufacturer's mark? Knowing who's chip they are might help find the right datasheet to decode the "CN" suffix.

I think it is quite old, but i am not sure that it is "old enough to be unbuffered like every old ones"...
The brand logo is like two triangle waves on top of the other.
There is written :
"I8210
CD4049CN
MM56649AN"

I will take a picture, but the writing is quite low contrast, so i am not sure that it will be easier to read.

what you have is a National Semiconductor [NatSemi] chip produced in the 10th week of 1982. the CD and the MM numbers look about right, as do all the other markings for style - but my 1988 natsemi cmos databook doesn't mention the "CN" suffix on any of their parts.

so, no clearer. sacrifice one to a lama circuit - see if it produces distortion [linear, unbuffered] or square-waves [buffered, digital].

Ah ah ! You nailed it I am actually builing a Red Llama, I am waiting for a 4049UBE to arrive next week, and in the meantime i have found this chip this morning (with some others).
I was wondering if the use of a buffered chip was safe for the circuit, and would either work, not work, or make the circuit behave differently : i have my answer ! 
I will try it this evening, and let you know about it !

Hello,
The Red Llama is finished (and rocking !), and therefore i may confirm that the 4049CN is unbuffered (as i get overdrive tones from my build, not fuzz).
