Volume control for Oscillating filter

How can I adjust the volume of this circuit?
(I know that I can add series resistance to the
output but that doesn't give much attenuation
and cuts high end at high resistances.)
If I add a typical voltage divider volume control
the circuit will oscillate freely.

What happens if you put the divider in the middle - replace the 47K on Q1 a 50K pot and take the .1 from the wiper? Same problem or would that work better?

It doesn't have any affect actually. (Strange).
When the wiper is at 9v it cuts out but nothing otherwise.
Thanks for the idea though.

Thinking of adding a buffer/gain stage and then a divider.

Huh. I wish it had worked! Best of luck going forward, onward and upward.
