High gain AC125s...usages?

I just bought a bunch of Philips AC125s -- I've used these in a Tonebender Mk II and they are probably my favorite choice for that circuit with the right gains and leakage.  This batch has the right leakage on most of the pieces, but all of them are really way too high gain.  They range from 200 Hfe to 350 Hfe, which I think is really just too much for a Mark II.  Anybody have suggestions for what I might do with these?

Be sure they are not high leakage as well.
Im thinking of boosters.... Mk III Tone bender (first two are darlington config anyway) .... or diodes?
Or a classic FF with trimpots all the way. 250 - 300 is bulls eye on JHF1 fuzz face gain (be it with silicon)

Check my gallery, I posted about a simple mod to use germs.
And there are some posts about it. Some prefer Q1 silicon because of noise/hiss issues.
