A little help with mxr gt-od

Having a few problems with a bulid.
Bulit a GT-OD based off here http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/08/mxr-gt-od.html
it is a mod off of the mxr zack wylde. here is a schamatic.




I got some sound but it dose not sound right. only thing that was chaged is Gain pot should be a 1m liner I used a 1m audio.  for the 18n cap , i used a 22n. the ic jrc 4558d

On the lower right side of the board there is a 470R resistor. You have a 470K resistor installed instead.
Change it and see what happens.

all switch prostions sound all the same. sounds like it is a dirty and oscillateing

The change from 470K to 470R of that particular resistor should produce a VERY noticeable change in tone.  Clearly something else is very wrong.

Why am I not seeing any diodes in your photo, or are they hidden in some way?
Have you verified the pinoput of the transistor used?  Just because it's NPN is no assurance of anything.  Plenty of times I've confused an ECB pinout with an EBC.

The diodes are on a switch.
and yes the mpsa14 was turned backwards. I thought I had it in right. the layout was wrong.
Works like a charm  now.
