Hello all, new guy here, with a stompbox build question. I searched for a solution but didn't see what I was looking for. Apologies in advance if this has been covered.

What I want to build is an A/B looper stompbox. The stompbox needs an always on send & return that wires to the foot switch that selects two output routes. Output One needs to be a stereo jack for sending to the stereo effects loop jack of the PB effects loop. Output Two would be a mono jack for sending the signal on its way to before the preamp. The pedals in this stompbox are then able to be in the PB effects loop or in through the regular amp input.

Can this be done and how, please! I'm probably over thinking it...or the stereo out jack can't send the tip and ring from a 3PDT switch. 4PDT?

A couple of reasons why I want to do this instead of just using the effects loop. 1. I have other A/B switches to play through the amp or to a DI box, and want the looped effects to play there. 2. An A/B to pick between two amps and want the looped effects for both amps. 3. I just want to see if I can build it! 4. I don't have enough stompboxs on my pedal board yet! Haha

Any questions please do ask.

Thanks in advance and be safe out there!

(Edited for typos, not repositioning.)

Welcome.

I think a crayon sketch would help more than a detailed text description.

How's this?

You could flip it for another 900, so some down-under forum members (:icon_cider:  Stephen..) could read it.. :icon_wink:

Sorry about the sore necks. The last picture was taken in landscape and thought it would display that. Uploading two more taken in portrait, hopefully they will show that way.

Picture #1 is the project idea reposted.
Picture #2 is the suggested cable, which I have, that I want to replace with one stereo out jack from the pedal, and use a single 1/4" stereo to stereo cable. One less jack on the pedal. I'd like to use a 1590A for the pedal. The effects loop within the pedal needs to be available to both channels of the footswitch. Is this pedal even possible? Would I need a board? 4PDT footswitch? Or do I have to use the Y-cable with two mono jacks to send to the amp, and one mono jack to pass the effects on down the signal chain?

I hope this is making sense. Please do ask any questions to clarify.
Thanks!!

So much for "smart" phones!   :icon_rolleyes:  :icon_wink:

Use software to rotate your images to the orientation you want, not what the phone thinks is right.  :)

Will this work??

I did not show grounds connected to keep the drawing simpler and easier to read. The thick pencil lines are the Ch A circuit and the thin pencil lines are the Ch B circuit.

Reminder:
The basis of this pedal is to have one built in effects loop available to two separate outputs: Ch A to 1 mono cable that adds the pedals in the signal chain on to the Input of the amp. Ch B to 1 stereo cable that sends the pedals to the Crate PB's stereo Effects Loop jack only.

Comments, modifications, questions, please let me know.
