I really like the tim. I had to sell mine and replace it with a clone due to size restraints. I.e. everything MUST fit in the guitar's case.

There is only one thing about the tim Id like to see...
There is a glassy chimey timbre when feeding a tube amp that is missing in many fx pedals. I suspect this is due
To the high damping of opamps. I remember some old j201 circuits had that glassy timbre.
Has anyone tried something like that in front of the tim circuit that can handle humbuckers?

maybe the Timmy, that's a small (half) Tim.

you can just build 2 timmy's in a single box, there are plenty of schematics and layouts out there. do you always set the knobs the same? if so, you can use trimmers instead of pots to save even more space
friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.

cheers

I have also noticed a lack of presence-y top end in my Timmy clone (schematic & pcb by pedalpcb), although I haven't had a real one to compare with, so it may just be the clone. It only bothered me when I tried to use it as a clean boost--then it seemed excessively muffled, even with the tone cut controls at minimum. For overdrive duty, it sounds fine as is, although I may try subbing some values here and there. I asked about this on the forum and got some answers as to what to try changing, but you'll have to search for it--I don't remember where it is.

For a glassy, FET-like clipping onset, I would suggest trying low voltage Zeners (2V7 or 2V4), as discussed here:

Turns out you can leave out the BAT42 (D2) without much difference to the sound. Aron kindly provided some great sound samples for this clipping arrangement in a tube screamer but it should have much the same principle effect in a Timmy (at least in the schematics I know):

I can only recommend to give this a try and don't be put off by the 2.7V nominal voltage drop. That number has little meaning in a clipping circuit like that, as explained here:
