Am building another standard pnp Ge FF. While debugging with the audio probe I ser that yhrte is audio at q1 base but not collector. Soldering seems ok  and problem exists with another transistor. Is this a case  of signal escaping to ground or transistor not turning on? Anything else I should be chasing?

Cheers

Yes, 2.2 V at base, 2.9 V at collector. Both high....

Probably Q1 Emitter isn't grounded or is "open"..

What are the voltages on Q2..??

P.S.
In presume you intentionally omited minus (-) sign in front of measurements taken..

will check all tonight but as I recall Q2 collector was about 4v. Yes all voltages neg :)
